Tigo Energy to Supply Optimisers for Brazil’s Largest Floating Solar Plant

US-based intelligent and energy software solutions provider  has announced it will provide its optimisers for a 54-MW floating solar project located in .

The supply order includes 97,200 Tigo optimizers, featuring the Tigo TS4-X-O MLPE line, for the developed by .

Situated on the reservoir of the Lajeado Hydropower Plant in Tocantins state, the project will consist of 18 solar islands, making it the largest floating solar installation in Brazil.

The Lajeado floating solar project is scheduled for completion by December 2025. Jose Alves Teixeira Filho, CEO of Apollo Flutuantes, emphasized the advantages of using optimizer technology, stating, “With rapid shutdown through optimizer technology, we can isolate specific portions of the system to safely address issues without having to shut the entire operation down. This project serves as an important example to replicate across Brazil as our solar installations and ambitions get bigger and bigger.”
