China's State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) and Recurrent Energy LLC have jointly inaugurated the Panati solar complex, a massive 292-megawatt peak (MWp) facility in Brazil, announced the northeastern Brazilian state of Ceara on Wednesday.
The project, representing an investment exceeding BRL 1 billion (USD 183.8 million / EUR 171 million), underscores a significant commitment to renewable energy development in Brazil. Spanning the Jaguaretama municipality in Ceara, the solar complex is equipped with 446,000 solar modules and is poised to generate sufficient clean electricity to meet the annual demand of approximately 350,000 local households.

In a statement, the northeastern state highlighted the strategic importance of such investments in bolstering Brazil's renewable energy capacity and contributing to sustainability goals.
Recently, SPIC and Recurrent Energy also marked the inauguration of another substantial solar project in Brazil's Northeastern region. The first phase of the Marangatu Solar Complex, boasting 446 MWp, was launched on June 10, further solidifying their footprint in the Brazilian solar market.
