TWAICE, a provider of analytics for battery energy storage systems (BESS), has introduced a new feature for its Battery Storage Analytics platform called the BESS Hierarchy Diagram. The tool is designed to give operators a real-time overview of their battery systems, consolidating data from multiple sources into a single, visual interface.
The feature maps entire systems from power conversion systems (PCS) to containers and modules, displaying operational metrics such as active power, throughput, PCS availability, and battery management system diagnostics. TWAICE said the tool reduces the need for manual data processing and allows teams to identify issues earlier and plan maintenance more effectively.
Chris Swanson, Director of Performance Engineering at Fullmark Energy, noted the benefits of simplified access to operational insights: “I don’t want to click through numerous screens to download a CSV and then have to post-process it. I want to do a couple of clicks on a dashboard to get me what I need.”
Stephan Rohr, CEO of TWAICE, added that the Hierarchy Diagram is intended to shift battery storage management from reactive to proactive operations. “Instead of chasing data across multiple tools, operators can now see their entire system — structure, performance, and alerts — in one place,” he said.
The new feature addresses challenges faced by teams managing BESS, where fragmented data across multiple dashboards can make monitoring complex systems difficult. TWAICE said the BESS Hierarchy Diagram helps improve collaboration among on-site teams while providing a centralized source of operational truth.
