Statkraft has agreed to divest its renewables development activities in the Netherlands to local energy supplier Greenchoice, the company said on Tuesday.
The transaction includes 120 megawatts (MW) of operational solar capacity, a portfolio of solar, wind and storage projects, as well as the transfer of Statkraft’s development team. The deal is expected to close in autumn 2025.
Barbara Flesche, Statkraft’s executive vice president, said: “I am very pleased that we have agreed to sell our portfolios of solar, wind and storage projects in the Netherlands to a company which will use this business as a platform for further growth. It is equally important to me that our competent and dedicated staff will get new opportunities with a good employer.”
She added, “Greenchoice shares our commitment to renewable energy and sustainability, and we are confident that this transaction will contribute to the green energy transition in Europe.”
Statkraft also said it will continue its market operations in the Netherlands but will reduce its hydrogen-related activities.
