Italy's Bee Solar and Chinese solar manufacturer Huasun have reached an agreement to advance photovoltaic (PV) production in Italy, leveraging the latter's technology. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on Friday outlines the framework for their collaboration, according to the Italian Ministry of Economic Development.
Under the agreement, Bee Solar plans to establish a PV manufacturing facility in Italy, utilizing Huasun's technology, expertise, and established connections with equipment manufacturers and material suppliers. This venture aims to enhance Italy's domestic PV manufacturing capabilities while providing Huasun with a foothold in the European market.
Construction of the new PV component production plant is scheduled to begin by March 2025.
Adolfo Urso, Italy's Minister of Economic Development, commented, “This partnership fully responds to the objective that our countries intend to achieve in the field of green technologies. It is a strategic project, to develop the photovoltaic supply chain in Italy.”
