Bosnian building materials group Lager doo has purchased an 85% stake in the company overseeing the development of a 300-megawatt (MW) wind farm project in Serbia, according to an official filing with the Serbian Business Registers Agency.
The acquisition of the majority interest in the Snaga Istoka project, which aims to establish the largest wind complex in the region, aligns with Lager's strategy to expand its footprint as a prominent renewable power producer in the area.
The transaction's financial details were not disclosed. The remaining 15% stake in the project is held by private individuals Igor Zivkovic and Dejan Vuksanovic, each owning a 7.5% share, as indicated by data from the Serbian Business Registers Agency.
Located in the eastern municipality of Bar, the Snaga Istoka wind farm is projected to require EUR 360 million (USD 385.8 million) for installation, according to local media reports.
The project is currently in the process of securing grid-connection approval from Serbia's transmission system operator Elektromreza Srbije (EMS), with construction anticipated to commence by late 2025.
