Green Wind Renewables Pty Ltd unveiled plans on Tuesday to develop a major wind farm, Ambrosia, in Western Australia, with a capacity of up to 600 megawatts (MW).
Set to be situated near Moodiarrup within the Shire of West Arthur, Ambrosia will encompass approximately 100 turbines and is expected to generate around 1.8 terawatt hours (TWh) of electricity annually. This output could power approximately 300,000 homes throughout Western Australia.
The project marks a significant initiative by Green Wind Renewables to bolster the region's renewable energy infrastructure. Community consultations will be initiated soon as part of the project's early development stages to engage local stakeholders.
Ambrosia is slated to progress to the late development phase by 2025, according to information provided on the project's website.
In collaboration with Macquarie Asset Management, Green Wind Renewables previously announced plans in September to jointly develop a portfolio of onshore wind projects in Western Australia, totaling up to 2.4 gigawatts (GW).
These projects, now part of Aula Energy's initial portfolio, aim to contribute to the South-West Interconnected System (SWIS) and support Australia's drive towards sustainable energy solutions.
