Plug Power Inc (PLUG.O) announced on Friday a significant order for 25 MW of proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyser systems from an undisclosed customer in Europe.
The order includes five 5-MW containerised PEM electrolysers and marks the beginning of what Plug described as a long-term partnership.
The deal holds potential for expansion, with Plug indicating it could grow to encompass up to 2 GW of capacity in multiple phases, though specific details were not disclosed.
In addition to this latest order, Plug Power is advancing on a separate 100-MW PEM electrolyser deployment with Galp, an oil and gas company, in Europe.
The company is also actively commissioning 5-MW projects for various industrial applications, including glass manufacturing, aluminum recycling, and steel manufacturing processes.
Currently, Plug Power is engaged in 7.5 GW of Basic Engineering and Design Package (BEDP) contracts, underscoring its expanding footprint in the green hydrogen sector.
