Uniper Partners with WAP Energia for 600MW Onshore Wind Portfolio in Poland

and Polish project developer have announced a collaborative effort to develop a significant wind power portfolio in . This partnership encompasses six individual projects in their early developmental stages, collectively targeting a capacity of up to 600MW.

Under the agreement, Uniper will assume complete control over the advancement and financial aspects of these projects. The selected sites, situated in western Poland, align with Uniper's overarching objective of advancing 10GW of renewable energy projects to construction phase by 2030.

Jörg Lennertz, Chief Executive Officer of Uniper Renewables, emphasized the strategic vision guiding Uniper's endeavors in the energy sector: “Uniper's strategy aims to drive the transformation of the energy industry through flexible, balanced and tailored forms of energy generation.” He further stated, “A total of around €8bn is to be invested in green growth and transformation between 2023 and 2030. This also includes investments in and wind power plants, where significant growth is targeted.”

Lennertz outlined Uniper's ambitious targets, noting, “In 2030, Uniper plans to use more than 80% of its installed power plant capacity for CO2-free power generation.” Additionally, the company plans to develop a cumulative capacity of ten GW across onshore wind and solar photovoltaic plants in key European markets by 2030.

In tandem with its long-term goals, Uniper aims to expedite the development of renewable energy assets, with intentions to bring 3GW of such energies to investment maturity by 2025.
