Dominion Energy Virginia Seeks Renewable Energy Proposals in Virginia

(DEV) has announced its search for proposals for new , onshore wind, and projects in Virginia. The initiative aims to support the state's energy needs, aligning with the company's Integrated Resource Plan and the Virginia Clean Economy Act. DEV is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

DEV will host an informational webinar for interested bidders on May 9. A separate Request for Proposals (RFP) for power purchase agreements will be issued on October 1. Proposals will be accepted throughout the year on a continuous basis.

The company is interested in bids for five categories of development assets: solar, PV co-located with energy storage, onshore wind, onshore wind co-located with energy storage, and standalone energy storage. DEV is seeking both utility-scale projects greater than 3MW and distributed projects 3MW or less, with a requirement that facilities be located in Virginia.

DEV will consider proposals for mechanically complete projects that are 5MW or less, similar to last year's RFP. The company also encourages proposals for solar and onshore wind projects on previously developed sites, such as former landfills or industrial uses.

The projects are expected to support local jobs, increase spending in communities, and bring in new tax revenue for local governments. DEV's initiative represents a significant step towards meeting Virginia's clean energy goals and promoting economic growth in the region.
