Cadeler, a player in the offshore wind industry, has inked vessel reservation agreements with Equinor and Polenergia, facilitating the development of the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind projects in Poland.
This milestone agreement represents the first collaboration between Cadeler and the two energy giants, showcasing a promising venture into the Polish renewable energy market.
The agreements encompass the deployment of Cadeler's specialized vessels, including the O-Class and P-Class, for the installation of 100 offshore turbines in the Baltic Sea, strategically located approximately 27km and 40km from the port of Łeba.
With operations scheduled to kick off in 2027, the potential value of the deals is estimated to range between €110m and €130m. The commencement of turbine installation marks a significant step forward in Poland's transition towards sustainable energy solutions.
Commenting on the landmark agreements, Cadeler's CEO, Mikkel Gleerup, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We're pleased to announce yet another contractual milestone in Poland. The Polish market offers great business potential for Cadeler, and we're proud to help our partners accelerate the transition towards sustainable energy for more than two million households.”
Upon completion, the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 projects are projected to collectively generate 1.4GW of electricity, catering to the energy needs of over two million households in the region.
Gleerup further emphasized the significance of the collaboration, highlighting its potential for future partnerships, stating, “This also marks our first contract with Equinor and Polenergia, setting the stage for new successful future partnerships.”
