Vestas has achieved a milestone by successfully assembling its first offshore wind turbine hub in Taiwan. This achievement represents Vestas' first fully assembled hub structure in the country, reflecting the company's commitment to bolstering Taiwan's renewable energy sector.

The assembly work was carried out in collaboration with the Zhongneng Offshore wind farm, a 300-megawatt (MW) project led by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and China Steel.

In a social media post, Vestas expressed the significance of this achievement, stating, “With this milestone in the localization of offshore turbines, we solidify our commitment to advancing Taiwan's renewable energy landscape both now and in the future.”

At the heart of this hub assembly is the substantial hub casting, which was produced a short distance away at the YGG Taichung foundry, marking another notable first for Taiwan. The successful assembly of the hub represents a vital step in Vestas' efforts to contribute to Taiwan's renewable energy goals.

This collaboration not only underscores the company's commitment to localizing offshore wind turbine production but also highlights the growing importance of Taiwan as a hub for renewable energy advancements. As the country continues to invest in clean energy infrastructure, Vestas' achievement serves as a testament to the progress being made in Taiwan's renewable energy landscape.
