Swedish renewable energy developer OX2 has acquired a 60% stake in the 60-megawatt Duvhällen wind farm from Norway-based Cloudberry Clean Energy ASA, the companies said on Wednesday.
The fully permitted project, located in Eskilstuna within Sweden’s SE3 electricity price zone, is expected to begin generating approximately 150 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity annually from 2028. Cloudberry will retain a 40% ownership share in the venture.
“This is an exciting project, and we look forward to bringing it to life together with Cloudberry,” said Emelie Zakrisson, country manager for OX2 Sweden. “By combining our experiences and capabilities, we aim to quickly develop new renewable energy in this region, where there’s a strong need for emissions-free electricity to support growing businesses and industry.”
The partners are also exploring the potential to integrate solar and battery storage components into the project, creating a hybrid energy system aimed at improving supply reliability and grid flexibility.
“To now welcome OX2, one of Sweden’s most experienced developers, as a partner means that together we can realise the project and secure new, renewable electricity production for SE3, where the need is greatest,” said Charlotte Bergqvist, Cloudberry’s country manager for Sweden.
The companies said hybridisation would allow the project to take advantage of the complementary generation profiles of wind, solar and energy storage technologies.
