Deutsche Offshore Schifffahrt has selected Dutch company SMST to provide key equipment for its fleet of service operation vessels. SMST will supply its Telescopic Access Bridge (TAB-L2) gangway system along with an offshore knuckle boom crane that features 3D motion compensating capability.

The equipment will be installed on Deutsche Offshore’s construction and commissioning service operation vessels (C-CSOV), which are designed to support offshore wind projects and other marine operations.

Johannes Wolters, Managing Director at Deutsche Offshore, emphasized the importance of the equipment, stating: “The crane and gangway will have the single most important influence on the performance of our vessels of any component on board. Therefore, we have conducted a very careful and thorough selection process for our mission equipment.”

Wolters expressed confidence in SMST’s capabilities, adding: “We are thrilled to have SMST as a partner to realise the innovative nature of our vessels. SMST will grant us the unique combination of a high-performing system, proven to operate reliably, safely, and in severe weather conditions.”

This partnership marks a significant step for Deutsche Offshore in enhancing the capabilities of its fleet to meet the growing demands of the offshore industry, with an emphasis on safety, reliability, and performance in challenging marine environments.
