Edda Wind, through its subsidiary West Energy AS, has entered into an agreement to sell its offshore wind vessel Mistral Enabler. The sale, which is subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to be finalized by early April 2025.
The company has signed a sale and purchase agreement for the transfer of all outstanding shares in Puerto de Llafranc, the registered owner of Mistral Enabler. As part of the transaction, a current contract with Ørsted will be novated to the new owner of the vessel.
The proceeds from the sale will be allocated to general corporate purposes, including the repayment of outstanding debt associated with Mistral Enabler. This move is expected to further strengthen Edda Wind’s liquidity position and balance sheet.
The sale of Mistral Enabler follows the earlier sale of its sister vessel, Edda Passat, which was sold in March 2024. Following this latest transaction, Edda Wind will retain ownership and operation of two purpose-built offshore wind SOVs (Service Operation Vessels) and five CSOVs (Crew Service Operation Vessels).
Additionally, the company has five CSOVs currently under construction, with four vessels expected to be delivered in the second quarter of 2025.
This strategic move aligns with Edda Wind’s efforts to optimize its fleet and strengthen its financial position as it continues to support the offshore wind sector.
