Solar installer RP Construction Services has announced a rebrand to Ampacity Renewables, a name that reflects the company’s dedication to electrification and accelerated growth in the renewable energy sector. Since its inception in 2014, the company has successfully delivered over 6 gigawatts (GW) of fully engineered solar systems across customer sites in both the U.S. and Canada.

Ampacity is now a member of the Quanta Services family of companies, and its new name is rooted in an industry term that refers to the maximum amount of electrical current a conductor can safely carry. The name is intended to evoke a sense of power and innovation, aligning with the company’s emphasis on providing cutting-edge solutions to the solar and storage markets.

“We have served our customers as a trusted partner to support them in completing projects quickly and efficiently,” said Eben Russell, founder and president of Ampacity. “This has resulted in tremendous growth and expansion within the tracker sector.”

The rebrand marks Ampacity’s commitment to continued growth and development within the distributed generation and utility-scale solar and storage markets. The company aims to reduce customers’ overheads and job costs by streamlining procurement processes and offering both structural and electrical solutions.

Looking to the future, Russell highlighted the growing demand for clean energy and the company’s role in meeting those needs. “By 2030, US electricity demand is expected to grow 7% from 4,300 terawatt-hours (TWh) in 2024 to 4,600 TWh in 2030,” he noted. “Ampacity’s vision is to expand our breadth of solutions and services to meet our nation’s future power needs, sustainably and responsibly.”

Through this rebranding, Ampacity is poised to strengthen its position as a key player in the renewable energy industry, with a focus on efficiency, customer satisfaction, and sustainable energy solutions.
