Estonian energy company and asset manager have inaugurated a 77 MW park in Kirikmäe, Pärnu County. This facility, which spans nearly 110 hectares, represents more than double the capacity of the largest existing solar park in Estonia.

The Kirikmäe Park is owned by the Baltic Renewable Energy Platform (BREP), a joint venture established by Evecon and Mirova in December 2022, aimed at financing, constructing, and operating a portfolio of over 100 MWp of solar parks in Estonia. The new solar park is projected to meet the annual energy needs of approximately 35,000 households.

Karl Kull, chief executive of Evecon, described the project as a significant milestone for the Baltic region, highlighting the substantial investment and production capacity involved. He noted, “Including the Imavere and Lohu mets solar parks, which were opened by Evecon and Mirova just a few days ago, more than 100 MW of production capacity will be added to the local market within one week. This represents about one-tenth of the total solar capacity currently produced in Estonia.”

Kull also mentioned a community benefit model proposed to the municipality of Lääneranna, stating, “This is a voluntary step by the company, as there is no provision for the payment of a tolerance fee in the case of solar energy production, as there is in the case of wind turbines.”

Raphael Lance, head of energy transition funds at Mirova, emphasized the firm's commitment to building new installed capacity in collaboration with industrial partners across . He expressed pride in contributing to the Baltics' decarbonization and energy independence through this significant asset and appreciated the quality of the partnership with Evecon.

The Kirikmäe solar park will utilize a total of 117,600 solar panels, each with a capacity of 655–665 W, sourced from .
