Engineering firm Kent has been selected by BlueFloat Energy and Nadara to provide multi-disciplinary support for their portfolio of floating wind projects in the UK. The partnership follows more than a year of collaboration and a competitive tender process, culminating in a framework agreement to assist the development of the consortium's ScotWind sites.
Kent will deliver engineering and consultancy services from its offices in Scotland, aligning with the partnership's focus on boosting local involvement and advancing opportunities in the UK renewable energy sector.
Cerianne Cummings, Head of Offshore Wind at Kent, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration. “We are proud to be working with BlueFloat Energy/Nadara Partnership and bring our floating wind expertise to these groundbreaking projects,” she said. “With our strong presence in Scotland and the south-west, we are ideally positioned to support the delivery of their ambitious UK plans.”
This framework solidifies Kent's role in the growing floating wind sector while enhancing regional employment opportunities and contributing to the UK's renewable energy objectives. The agreement underscores the increasing focus on floating wind as a pivotal component of the nation's clean energy transition.
