UK-based OEG Energy Group announced that its subsidiary Hughes Subsea is conducting site clearance operations for the 1.14-GW Baltic Power offshore wind farm, a joint venture between Poland's Orlen and Canada's Northland Power.
The offshore support vessel Northern Victoria, operating from Poland's Gdynia port since October 2024, is expected to complete the 70-day project, which involves identifying, investigating, and relocating boulders across a 130 sq km area to prepare for turbine installation. In its first week, the team relocated 800 targets.
Geosight, another OEG subsidiary, is contributing to the project with subsea survey expertise. Baltic Power, located 23 km off Poland's northern coast, will feature 76 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 15 MW, making it the most advanced offshore wind project in the Polish Baltic Sea.
