Synera Renewable Energy Secures Permit for 495MW Formosa 4 Offshore Wind Project

Synera (SRE) has announced that its 495MW has officially obtained the Establishment Permit from 's Energy Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs. This milestone makes Formosa 4 the first project among all successful bidders in Phase 3 Zonal Development of Wind to achieve this crucial approval.

The project, located off the coast of Miaoli County, is also the first in this auction round to receive a letter of consent from the local government. These achievements highlight SRE's dedication to driving renewable energy growth in Taiwan and across the -Pacific region.

Lucas Lin, chairperson of SRE, stated: “We are deeply grateful to the central authorities, local government, and relevant agencies for their recognition and support of Formosa 4, which has enabled our team to steadily progress through each review process and achieve this significant milestone.”

Lin reaffirmed SRE's long-term commitment, adding: “SRE maintains strong confidence in Taiwan's offshore wind potential and remains committed to the market. As a leading offshore wind developer in Taiwan, we will continue driving our projects forward to accelerate the energy transition.”

Once operational, Formosa 4 is expected to power more than 500,000 households, making it a significant contributor to Taiwan's renewable energy ambitions.
