EDP to Build 3-MW Solar Portion in Spain Using Innovative Hyperflex Mobile Factory

Portuguese utility group Energias de Portugal SA has announced plans to construct a 3-MW segment of a larger 122-MW (PV) park in , leveraging the advanced Hyperflex mobile factory technology.

The automation solution is developed by -based Comau, a subsidiary of European car manufacturer Stellantis NV.

Located in Valladolid province, the AutoPV project will employ an automatic assembly station for its construction. The PV structures will be pre-assembled and then transported and positioned at their final locations using a rover, as detailed by EDP.

Antonio Coutinho, CEO of EDP Innovation, commented on the initiative, stating, “The pilot in Penaflor is just the first step in introducing automation solutions into EDP's robust business plan. Our goal is to transform this into a global and integrated process, capable of generating competitive advantages for all the company's operations and enhancing our human capital for more qualified activities.”
