BayWa r.e. Sells Three Wind Projects in Germany Totaling 56MW

BayWa's renewable energy division has sold three wind projects in Germany with a combined capacity of 56 megawatts (MW). The projects are located in Beckum (North Rhine-Westphalia), Jembke (Lower Saxony), and Reichenbach (Rhineland-Palatinate).

The sale includes the project rights for the Beckum wind farm, with construction scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024. The project will feature four turbines with a total capacity of 21.9MW, sold to German developer EEF.

Jembke, currently under construction by BayWa r.e. under an EPC contract, will consist of three turbines generating 15.3MW. This project was sold to ENOVA Value, a German wind developer and investor.

Reichenbach, also being built under an EPC contract by BayWa r.e., will host three turbines with a total capacity of 18.6MW and is expected to be operational by November 2024. The project was sold to KGAL, a German investment and asset management firm.

BayWa r.e. emphasized its commitment to supporting the energy transition while benefiting local communities and promoting . Measures will be implemented to minimize environmental impact, including improving habitats for birds and bats.

Andreas Hornig, managing director of BayWa r.e. Wind, expressed satisfaction with the successful sales and highlighted the attractiveness of the German wind market, which shows strong growth potential. CEO noted that the company is on track for further sales globally, particularly in Germany, , the UK, the , and the , by the end of the year.
