Trina Solar Co Ltd, a Chinese supplier of photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage solutions, announced on Tuesday the production of a crystalline silicon PV module made entirely from recycled materials.
The company utilized silicon, silver, aluminum frames, and glass recovered from discarded modules to create this innovative product.
The newly developed recycled PV module boasts an efficiency of 20.7% and a power output exceeding 645 W, marking it as the first fully recycled module of its kind globally.
Trina Solar employed several advanced techniques in its production, including self-developed interlayer separation reagents, chemical etching technology, and wet chemical silver extraction methods.
Trina Solar continues to focus on enhancing technological solutions for recovering and recycling waste PV modules, having applied for 37 patents in the field of module recycling.
