Damco Energy Secures Environmental Permit for 400 MWp Solar Park in Greece

, a subsidiary of the Copelouzos investment group in Greece, has received an environmental permit from the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs to construct a 400-MWp solar park in the central Greek region of Thessaly.

The estimated value of the project is EUR 216 million (USD 232.7 million), as reported by domestic news portal Newmoney.

The approved plan outlines the installation of over 601,000 bifacial photovoltaic (PV) panels across an expansive area of approximately 5,900 acres (2,388 hectares) in the Trikala regional unit. The solar farm will be equipped with interconnection facilities and will connect to the National Transmission System through an existing overhead transmission line.

China's has been selected as the supplier for the 665-Wp panels, with inverters to be provided by Technologies Co Ltd.

, the parent company of Damco Energy, currently operates 488 MW of renewable power plants and has an additional 2,730 MW of projects in various stages of development, according to information available on the group's website.

The granted environmental permit marks a significant step forward for Damco Energy as it progresses toward the realization of the ambitious 400-MWp solar park in Thessaly.
