Ingeteam has been awarded a supply contract to provide power electronics technology for Enel Green Power Australia's Girgarre solar farm project in Victoria.
The project, located in the Campaspe Shire, aims to generate enough energy for over 43,000 Australian homes annually with its 93MW installed capacity.
Under the deal, Ingeteam will supply 15 transformer or power stations as part of a turnkey solution, along with the power plant controller system.
Construction began in August 2023, backed by an investment exceeding A$140 million, and is expected to conclude within 18 months, with an operational lifespan estimated at 35 years.
Enel Green Power Australia (EGPA), in collaboration with Beon Energy Solutions, has emphasized sustainable construction practices to minimize environmental impact and foster community engagement.
Ingeteam's involvement marks its continued expansion in Australia, following the 10th anniversary of its Australian subsidiary's inauguration in November 2013.
This contract reinforces Ingeteam's commitment to supporting Australia's renewable energy sector with advanced power electronics solutions tailored for large-scale solar projects.
