Enel Green Power Completes Construction of 93MW Solar Park in Australia

Enel Green Power, the Italian renewable energy giant, has reached a significant milestone with the completion of its 93-megawatt (MW) Girgarre park in Victoria, , advancing the project towards its commissioning phase.

In a recent LinkedIn post, the company announced the installation of the final (PV) panel at the site, comprising nearly 170,000 pieces. Enel anticipates that the solar complex will generate sufficient electricity to meet the annual demand of approximately 43,000 homes.

Beon Australia & , the project's construction contractor, has played a pivotal role in bringing the Girgarre solar park to fruition. Additionally, Longi Asia-Pacific, a subsidiary of Chinese solar panel manufacturer Longi Green Technology Energy Co, serves as the technology provider for the project.

Situated approximately 50 kilometers west of Shepparton, in the Shire of Campaspe, the Girgarre solar park is poised to contribute to Australia's renewable energy landscape. Under a long-term (PPA) with SmartestEnergy Australia, a subsidiary of Japan's Marubeni Corp, the solar park will sell its electricity output.

With an estimated project cost of AUD 140 million (USD 92.7 million / EUR 85.7 million), construction of the Girgarre solar park commenced in September last year.
