Global offshore wind health and safety organization G+ has announced a new partnership with Brazilian trade association ABEEólica (Associação Brasileira de Energia Eólica e Novas tecnologias) to bolster health and safety standards in Brazil's burgeoning offshore wind sector.
Established in 2002, ABEEólica represents the wind energy sector across the industry supply chain in Brazil. The collaboration between G+ and ABEEólica aims to develop a comprehensive health and safety framework for the region, leveraging shared access to global knowledge, industry guidance, and lessons learned.
Rachel Porto, Global Head of WHSES at Corio Generation and G+ Board Director, highlighted the significance of G+'s experience in supporting the global offshore wind sector, emphasizing its role as a forum for industry players to exchange knowledge and implement standardized good practice guidelines. Porto expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to contribute to the safe management of offshore wind projects in Brazil and promote the adoption of robust health and safety standards in new markets.
Elbia Gannoum, Chief Executive of ABEEólica, underscored the association's interest in leveraging international experiences to enhance offshore wind safety in Brazil.
