Renewable energy investor Blue Elephant Energy has strengthened its executive team with the appointment of Malte Hippe as chief operating officer from March 1 and Dorothee Klinkmann as chief financial officer, the company said.
Hippe will oversee asset management, engineering and information technology, bringing more than 20 years of international consulting and renewable energy experience. His previous roles include positions at Boston Consulting Group and Danish offshore wind developer Ørsted, Blue Elephant Energy said.
The company added that Klinkmann has assumed the CFO role with immediate effect. She previously served as head of corporate and project finance and most recently as deputy CFO, where she led the company’s debt financing activities for several years.
Blue Elephant Energy said long-serving chief financial officer Dominik Seibert has left the company for personal reasons.
Felix Goedhart, founder and chief executive of Blue Elephant Energy, said the appointments were aimed at supporting the company’s continued expansion. “With the creation of the COO role and the internal appointment to the CFO position, we are setting the course for the next phase of our company’s growth,” Goedhart said.
He added that the company wished to thank Seibert for his contribution during his time as CFO.
