German renewable energy investor ENOVA has launched its HYPER 2030 strategy, setting out plans to expand its onshore wind portfolio to 3 gigawatts and increase assets under management to €5 billion by 2030.
The company said the new strategy builds on its earlier Project One framework, under which ENOVA assembled a 1-GW wind portfolio and grew assets under management to around €1 billion.
Growth under HYPER 2030 is expected to be driven mainly by repowering existing wind farms and acquiring late-stage projects, accounting for about 1.8 GW of additional capacity by the end of the decade. ENOVA also plans to develop around 300 MW of new onshore wind projects.
“HYP3R 2030 is our strategic response to a wind energy market that is currently undergoing major structural changes,” said Hauke Brümmer, chief executive of the ENOVA Group.
“We consistently align growth where efficiency, feasibility and long-term value creation come together – and with the clear goal of participating disproportionately in market changes,” he added.
As part of the strategy, ENOVA said its services arm, ENOVA Service, will be expanded over the next five years into a leading independent dealer, refiner and reprocessor of wind turbine spare parts. The company added that it plans to further strengthen its expertise in Enercon turbines, positioning the unit as the largest independent Enercon service provider in northern Germany.
ENOVA said the HYPER 2030 strategy is designed for a market environment characterised by rising approval volumes in Germany, evolving operating models and a growing emphasis on project feasibility, scale and access to capital.
