CMS, a leading international law firm, has appointed Susie Lind as a partner in its Edinburgh-based energy and infrastructure team, the firm said on Tuesday.
Lind joins CMS from Bluefloat Energy and Nadara’s UK floating wind partnership, where she served as managing director, and previously held the role of vice-chair at the Offshore Wind Industry Council. Her career also includes a 12-year tenure at EDF, where she held senior positions including Legal Affairs Director and Nuclear Decommissioning Director.
At CMS, Lind will provide strategic and legal support to renewable energy clients worldwide, covering organisational and project development, construction, operations, and decommissioning, with a particular emphasis on offshore wind projects. She will continue to serve as a non-executive director at RenewableUK and Scottish Renewables.
Chris Martin, formerly head of legal at Bluefloat Energy-Nadara UK, will also join CMS in January as Of Counsel within the energy and infrastructure team.
Allan Wernham, managing director of CMS Scotland, said: “We are delighted to welcome Susie, a globally-renowned leader within the renewable energy sector with more than 20 years’ experience. Her appointment, along with her highly-regarded former colleague Chris Martin, will further strengthen our leading position in offshore wind and energy projects.”
Lind said: “I’m thrilled to be joining CMS’s talented and industry-leading energy team. Along with the immense global opportunities for the sector, Scotland has become a world leader in the deployment of renewables and has one of the largest pipelines for future development, particularly for deepwater including floating offshore wind.”
