Subsea Micropiles has named former DEME Group chief financial officer Els Verbraecken as a non-executive director, as the company looks to strengthen its leadership and support international growth in subsea foundation technologies.
Verbraecken brings more than a decade of senior financial and strategic experience from her 12-year tenure at DEME, where she played a key role in the company’s 2022 public listing and oversaw global expansion across offshore wind, environmental remediation, and marine infrastructure.
“I am excited to join the board of Subsea Micropiles at such an exciting stage of development,” Verbraecken said. “I see a beneficial disruption to the industry supported by innovation and a strong service solution. The company’s mission and values align closely with my own, and I look forward to contributing to its continued growth and long-term success.”
Chair Carl Goran Dandanell welcomed the appointment, stating: “Her deep financial acumen, combined with her operational experience in offshore and infrastructure sectors, will bring valuable insight to our strategic direction. Her appointment reflects our commitment to strengthening board diversity and governance.”
Subsea Micropiles, which specialises in scalable anchoring and foundation solutions for varied seabed and load conditions, said the board expansion is aligned with its plans to accelerate international deployment and meet increasing demand for cost-effective subsea infrastructure.
The appointment follows a broader industry trend of experienced leadership being brought in to support companies operating in offshore energy and marine technologies.
