Commerz Real has commissioned the 47-megawatt Amance solar park in eastern France, adding to its Klimavest impact fund’s growing renewable energy portfolio.
The photovoltaic plant, located near Troyes in the Grand Est region, spans 42 hectares and is expected to generate enough electricity to cover the theoretical annual consumption of around 11,000 households, the company said.
Klimavest acquired the project in a ready-to-build state from German renewables developer BayWa r.e. in March 2025. BayWa r.e. was responsible for construction and will continue to manage both technical and commercial operations. Test runs are currently under way to optimise the plant’s performance.
“The scheduled commissioning of the Amance solar park confirms our strategy of investing in mature projects with reliable partners,” said Michael Henn, global head of green deal infrastructure at Commerz Real. “France has proven to be a reliable market for renewable energy investments with attractive conditions.”
The site will also be used for agricultural purposes, with a local sheep farmer managing the land. Pasture planting, fencing, water troughs, and access for farming vehicles have been arranged, allowing the flock to maintain vegetation while coexisting with the solar infrastructure.
With the addition of Amance, Klimavest’s portfolio now includes more than 40 wind and solar assets across six countries, alongside a minority stake in German transmission system operator Amprion. The fund’s total volume stands at approximately €1.7 billion.
