Pacific Green Technologies has reached financial close and completed the sale of its 250MW battery energy storage system (BESS) project, Limestone Coast North Energy Park, to Intera Renewables for $293 million.
The Limestone Coast North Energy Park, located in the southeast of South Australia, is one of two battery parks on the site. Construction is set to begin this month, with Gransolar Group, appointed as the Balance of Plant contractor, leading the project. The commercial operation date is targeted for February 2027. Additionally, Trina Storage has been contracted to supply the 250MW/500MWh BESS, with Notice to Proceed already issued.
Pacific Green Technologies will continue to play an active role in the project as construction manager, overseeing both Gransolar and Trina Storage during the development process.
Scott Poulter, CEO of Pacific Green Technologies, stated, “With Limestone Coast North, our team has capitalised on our global footprint to create a template for the responsible development and financing of utility-scale storage in Australia. Key to this has been cultivating strong relationships with respected partners like Palisade and Zen Energy, Gransolar and Trina Storage who share our commitment to bringing stability to the Australian grid.
