Ilmatar has commenced commercial production at its 38MW Korpilevonmaki wind farm, located in Sakyla, southwest Finland. The six turbines at the site are expected to generate approximately 125GWh of renewable energy annually.
The Korpilevonmaki project is notable for being one of the few renewable energy investments made in Finland in 2023. Completed in just 16 months, the wind farm was finished ahead of schedule and under budget.
Petri Ainonen, Director of Construction at Ilmatar, commented on the success of the project, stating, “It has been rewarding to see how careful pre-planning and project development work have borne fruit during construction. It has also been great to follow our seamless cooperation with our partners and see how smooth stakeholder and authority work can be in Finland.”
Ainonen also highlighted the importance of collaboration, noting, “The months' head start on schedule shows the importance of both excellent preparation and effective cooperation between all parties involved in the project.”
The successful completion of Korpilevonmaki reflects the efficient project management and strong partnerships that have driven the rapid development of renewable energy infrastructure in Finland.
