Danish offshore wind services company Cadeler has signed a firm contract with an undisclosed client for the deployment of its newbuild vessel, Wind Pace, at an offshore wind farm in the United States. This marks the first deployment of Cadeler's second P-Class vessel, which is set for delivery ahead of the scheduled work.
The deployment of Wind Pace is planned to begin in the second quarter of 2025, with the vessel committed to the project until the first quarter of 2026. The estimated value of the contract is between €67 million and €75 million.
“This contract represents an important milestone for Cadeler as we continue to expand our fleet and operations globally,” said a Cadeler spokesperson. “The Wind Pace will be our second newbuild P-Class vessel, and we are excited for its deployment in the U.S. offshore wind sector.”
Earlier this month, Cadeler also secured two contracts for its other newbuild vessel, Wind Mover, which is currently under construction at Hanwha Ocean Shipyard in South Korea. Wind Mover will support operations and maintenance activities, as well as potential installation work, in Europe upon its expected delivery in the fourth quarter of 2025. Cadeler's sister vessel, Wind Maker, was delivered to the company in January 2025.
The contracts with Wind Mover and Wind Pace signal Cadeler's continued expansion in the offshore wind sector, particularly in the U.S. and European markets.
