GE Vernova Secures Turbine Order for Wind Project in Italy

US-based has secured an order to supply its 6.1-MW class turbines for a wind repowering project in , the company announced.

Local developer IVPC Group placed the order for five units of GE Vernova's 6.1-MW turbines, which feature a 158-metre rotor.

The new turbines will replace older models at the Montefalcone wind park to enhance its energy output and extend the facility's lifespan.

GE Vernova is expected to begin delivering the turbines early next year, with the repowering project scheduled for completion by the end of 2025.

IVPC Group will maintain the upgraded , with GE Vernova providing engineering support.

This order represents the first time GE Vernova's 6.1-MW turbines will be deployed in Italy, following a recent contract to deliver the same model for five wind projects in Spain, totalling 177 MW.
