Vestas Secures 92MW in Turbine Orders for Japanese Onshore Projects

wind turbine manufacturer has announced orders totaling 92 megawatts (MW) for three wind projects in . The orders, part of the company's fourth-quarter intake, include agreements for turbine supply and long-term service contracts.

Among the orders, Vestas received a 38MW contract for nine V117-4.2 MW turbines for an undisclosed project, along with a long-term service agreement. A separate order for eight units of the same turbine model was also placed for another unnamed project in the country.

In addition, Renewable Energy Corporation and Tohoku Electric Power Co. have ordered five V136-4.2 MW turbines for a replacement project at the JRE Sakata Wind Farm. This project includes a long-term Active Output Management (AOM) 5000 service agreement, ensuring operational efficiency over the project's lifespan.

All three projects are expected to begin turbine delivery and commissioning in 2026. Vestas' latest orders highlight ongoing growth in Japan's renewable energy sector as the country works to expand its clean energy capacity.
