RWE has secured 41 MW of onshore wind capacity through France's recent AO16 bidding round, which saw the Commission for the Regulation of Energy (CRE) award a total of 755 MW across 57 projects. The projects received an average bid price of €87.92/MWh.
RWE's successful bids include two projects: the 11.8-MW Morgat wind farm in Charente-Maritime, featuring two turbines, and the 29.5-MW Pressoirs array in the Indre region with five turbines. These projects are located in Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Centre-Val de Loire, respectively.
“This new success reflects RWE's winning approach: making each project exemplary in combining local integration with competitive pricing,” commented Katja Wunschel, CEO of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia.
She added that these results underscore RWE's growth in the French market, aligning with its Growing Green strategy.
RWE has introduced support measures to ensure the integration of the wind farms into their local environments. Since entering the French market in 2020, RWE has commissioned 240 MW of renewable energy capacity in the country.
