Bureau Veritas has announced the acquisition of Versatec Energy, a Netherlands-based technical advisory firm with a focus on offshore wind and hydrogen, as part of its effort to expand its expertise in renewable energy.
The acquisition aligns with Bureau Veritas' broader strategy to enhance its service portfolio in areas including offshore wind, hydrogen, oil & gas, nuclear, and carbon capture.
Versatec Energy, which has supported over 1,500 projects globally across Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa, specializes in services such as commissioning, start-up, asset due diligence, and project management. The firm employs 35 consultants and recorded revenues of €4.2 million in 2023.
Bureau Veritas stated that Versatec's expertise will support its role in technical compliance and industrial risk management across the energy sector.
Versatec Energy CEO Klaas-Otto Ykema highlighted the potential for expanded global reach, noting that joining Bureau Veritas will enable the firm to leverage broader resources and capabilities in testing, inspection, and certification.
