Neoenergia SA has announced a partnership with Grupo CCR, a local mobility infrastructure company, to jointly harness energy from three wind farms in the 566.5-MW Neoenergia Oitis wind power complex in Brazil's Piaui state.
The collaboration will provide CCR with access to the energy produced by the Oitis 2, Oitis 4, and Oitis 6 wind parks, which will supply 60% of the company's current energy demand.
The transaction's financial details have not been disclosed, and the agreement is still pending clearance from local regulatory authorities.
The Neoenergia Oitis complex consists of 12 wind parks with 103 turbines, each with a 5.5 MW capacity, capable of generating enough electricity to meet the needs of a city with 2.7 million people.
This partnership highlights the growing demand for renewable energy in Brazil's corporate sector, especially among infrastructure companies.
