Qair Secures Green Hydrogen and Methanol Plant at Port of Le Havre

, a independent renewable power producer, has been awarded the opportunity to establish a and methanol production plant in the Port of Le Havre, France's second-largest commercial port.

The decision followed a call for projects by Haropa Port, which manages Le Havre along with two other ports.

The proposed plant, part of Qair's Methavert project, will be located on a 60-hectare (148.3-acre) site in Rogerville, within the port's industrial zone.

The facility aims to produce 200,000 tonnes of e-methanol, targeting supply to the maritime industry and other hard-to-abate sectors.

This initiative is set to transform the Le Havre industrial zone into a green corridor for maritime transport, in line with Haropa Port's 2020-2025 strategy to drive sustainable industrial development in the region.

Guirec Dufour, CEO of Qair France, emphasized the company's ambition to become a significant player in the green sector, both within France and globally.

This project represents a significant step in Qair's broader efforts to promote solutions and decarbonize industries.
