Vestas Lands 203-MW Turbine Order for U.S. Wind Project

has secured a 203-MW order to supply its V163-4.5 MW turbines for the Lotus wind project in Macoupin County, Illinois, developed by .

Alongside turbine supply, Vestas will provide a 10-year service agreement to maintain optimal operation of the turbines. Delivery of the turbines is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025, with commissioning expected in early 2026.

This new order comes as Vestas reported strong third-quarter financial results for 2024. The company's operating profit (EBIT) surged to €235 million, a significant rise from €70 million in the same quarter the previous year.

Vestas also reported a gross profit of €544 million, up from €351 million in Q3 2023, driven by an 18.9% revenue increase to €5.2 billion. These results reflect robust demand and improved profitability in Vestas' operations, positioning it well for continued growth in the renewable energy sector.
