Ingka Investments, the investment division of the Netherlands-based and primary franchisee of IKEA, has activated its (PV) park in .

Located in Langeron in the Nievre department of central France, the plant is anticipated to produce about 23 GWh of renewable electricity annually—sufficient to meet the needs of over 6,000 homes.

The project aligns with IKEA's broader sustainability target of achieving 100% renewable electricity consumption across its retail operations by 2025, as well as its overarching net-zero commitment.

The facility, outfitted with 34,500 modules, will be managed by Ingka Investments in collaboration with Exus Renewables.

Frederik de Jong, Ingka Investments' head of renewable energy, noted the company's approach to actively contributing to renewable energy generation. “We believe we have an important role to play to encourage the production of more renewable energy, rather than just buying up renewable energy,” he said, adding that Ingka's renewable energy investments are closely tied to IKEA's retail markets to ensure long-term renewable power access.

In addition to this solar project, Ingka Investments holds a portfolio of seven wind farms in France.
