Turbine Components Arrive for 30-MW Floating Wind Project in France

Wind turbine components have arrived at the new wind terminal in Port of Port-La Nouvelle for the 30-MW Eoliennes flottantes du golfe du Lion (EFGL) pilot project, located in the .

This innovative project, led by Ocean Winds and , will feature three V164 turbines of 10 MW each—the largest and most powerful turbines ever installed on floating foundations in .

Currently, the turbine components are stored on the quay while floating platforms, still under construction at the Grand Port Maritime in Marseille, are expected to be ready by April 2025.

The project will utilize 's floating foundation technology, with turbine installation scheduled for late spring 2025.

EFGL is set to be a significant pilot for floating wind, expected to provide essential insights for future development in the Mediterranean region.
