Vestas Turbine Collapse at Missouri Wind Farm Prompts Safety Pause

A wind turbine collapsed at the 400 MW High Prairie Wind Farm in , marking the third such incident at the site, owned by Ameren Missouri.

The turbine, a V120-2.2 MW Mk11D model, experienced a tower failure, though fortunately, all personnel are safe, and no injuries were reported.

In response, Vestas has paused operations for all turbines at the site as a precaution. “We are conducting a root cause analysis of the incident and working to get the wind park back in safe operation,” a Vestas spokesperson stated.
