Howoge and Berliner Stadtwerke to Install 50 MW of Solar on Berlin Rooftops

German housing company Howoge Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH has announced a partnership with Berlin's municipal utility, Berliner Stadtwerke, to install up to 50 MW of capacity across its building portfolio.

The project will target structurally suitable rooftops and aims to supply power for 20,000 two-person households by 2033.

Berliner Stadtwerke will be responsible for constructing the systems, which Howoge will then own and manage. The municipal utility has previously installed 4 MW of solar capacity for Howoge, contributing to Berlin's goals.

This large-scale solar initiative aligns with Howoge's climate neutrality target for its portfolio by 2045, bolstering Berlin's existing 283 MW of solar power capacity by over 16%. This project supports Berlin's efforts to achieve climate neutrality by 2045.
