Ocean Winds, the joint venture between EDP Renewables and Engie, has selected Bureau Veritas Polska to certify its 500-MW BC-Wind offshore wind farm in Poland.
The certifier will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the project, covering all stages from design and production to installation, transport, and commissioning.
In line with Polish legal requirements, two essential certificates will be issued during the process: a Design Conformity Certificate, confirming compliance with technical standards, and a Certificate of Permission to Operate, ensuring construction adherence to the approved design.
BC-Wind, located 23 km north of the Polish coast in the Baltic Sea, is in an advanced development phase. The project has secured environmental approval for both its offshore and onshore components and holds rights to a contract for difference (CfD). Ocean Winds' current focus is on contracting key suppliers and establishing a service base for the project.
