Lebanon Takes a Step Towards a Greener Future with 11 New Solar Panel Plants

In a move towards sustainable energy, has signed contracts with 11 private sector companies to purchase energy electricity. At a press conference held by Energy Minister , he announced that these companies would be constructing 11 plants, each with a capacity of 15 megawatts per station, to connect to the State Company's grid.

The agreement complies with the Cabinet Resolution of May 12, 2022, in which the Council of Ministers granted 11 licenses to private sector companies to produce up to 165 MW of solar energy. The plants are expected to make a significant contribution to Lebanon's energy mix, moving the country towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.

The implementation of these projects will guarantee more hours of power supply, which is currently limited to barely two hours per day due to the economic and financial collapse in Lebanon. In addition to the practical benefits, the projects will also send positive signals to the international community regarding the use of sustainable energy and the fight against climate change.

As the energy sector is one of the most affected by Lebanon's crisis, this initiative marks a significant step towards a greener future. By harnessing the power of the sun, Lebanon can reduce its reliance on traditional energy sources and take a vital step towards a more sustainable and prosperous future.
