JSW Energy Signs PPA with NTPC for 700 MW of Solar Power

Indian power company Ltd, part of the JSW Group, has signed a (PPA) with state-owned utility Ltd for 700 MW of solar capacity.

Under the agreement, JSW Energy will supply power at a tariff of INR 2.59 (USD 0.031/EUR 0.028) per kWh over a 25-year period. The project, connected through both inter-state and state transmission systems, is scheduled to be commissioned by June 2026.

JSW Energy currently has a 3.2-GW solar pipeline, with PPAs signed for 2 GW. Its total generation portfolio stands at 18.2 GW, including 7.7 GW operational and 2.1 GW under construction across wind, thermal, and hydro.

The company also has an 8.3-GW renewable pipeline and 16.2 GWh of energy storage capacity in development.

In a separate announcement, JSW Energy has signed an agreement with State Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) for a 1,500 MW/12,000 MWh pumped hydro energy storage facility.

The Bhavali pumped hydro project, located in Maharashtra, is expected to come online within 48 months.
