Solaris Holding AD has inaugurated a hybrid renewable energy park in Pernik, Bulgaria, featuring a solar photovoltaic capacity of 32 MWp alongside a 61-MWh energy storage system. The project is owned by Bulgarian-German solar park installer SUNOTEC and the primary shareholders of Eurohold Bulgaria AD.
The installation, capable of supplying power to approximately 10,200 households, is situated on a former industrial waste site from the local steel industry. Financing for the project comes from DSK Bank and Germany's Varengold Bank AG, utilizing battery storage technology from Huawei.
Eurohold-owned Electrohold Trade will manage the green energy produced, with the battery system facilitating usage during peak hours and contributing to grid stability.

He stated that projects like the one in Pernik allow the company to offer competitive energy at fixed prices over the long term.
According to Solaris Holding's announcement, the company has plans to develop 600 MW of solar capacity and 1,000 MWh of energy storage systems. Recently, Bulgaria also saw the commissioning of a 25-MW/55-MWh battery energy storage system.
